(图赏): Beautiful 3D printing of the future art

Monad Studio, an architectural practice studio from Florida, was founded in 2002 by Eric Goldemberg and Veronica Zalcberg, when the studio was created to explore and develop concepts related to rhythm and rhythm. They cover a wide range of areas from architecture, urban planning, landscapes to art installations and product design. The studio often combines all aspects of technology and design in an innovative way.

Despite the wide range of design teams involved, they are most concerned with a series of designs and creations around sound—especially the way they generate designs is often reminiscent of the aesthetics of the space age. Of course, additive manufacturing projects are also indispensable in these designs.

In fact, their latest design project, MULTI, Tiangongshe has been introduced more or less before. This is a collection of five new 3D printed instruments that was created by the studio together with musician and guitarist Scott F. Hall. These five 3D printed instruments, each unique and unique in design, took three to six months to complete. These five instruments include: two-string piezoelectric violin, one-string electroacoustic travel bass guitar or Monobarasitar, one-string piezoelectric Monoviolocellello (similar to cello), small Didieridoo and Hornucopian bass tube. In addition to these five instruments, MULTI also includes a sonic wall as a band-shaped bandstand and instrument stand.

All instruments present a sense of organic beauty, and these developers at Monad Studios claim that their Florida flora outside of Miami's work outdoors has inspired their designs.

Two-string piezoelectric violin

The piezoelectric violin, as shown in the figure below, took about 10 days to complete 3D printing. Although its appearance is not similar to a classical violin. But according to Goldemberg, there are close elements between the two instruments. They designed this scale model more like a spaceship. Thanks to the installation of a piezo sensor, it is fully capable of playing a complete piece of music. Such piezoelectric sensors are commonly used in some musical instruments as a pickup to amplify sound.

A string of electroacoustic travel bass guitar or Monobarasitar

Monobarasitar is an electroacoustic bass guitar with only one string. Although some Monad instruments, such as wind instruments, are completely 3D printed, Monobarasitar requires additional components such as strings, bridges and tuning gears.
